What is a resource center?

A pillar of the circular economy, a resource center meets the 3 principles of the Social and Solidarity Economy :

  • Social by creating jobs and promoting integration in the region;
  • Environmental by promoting recycling and waste reduction;
  • Economic by enabling local economic development.

The Ressourcerie de Gonesse opened its doors in spring 2019. The structure consists of a workshop and a shop.

At the workshop, employees collect, sort, clean and repair objects, while forming and by transmitting know-how. All items, even used ones, can be salvaged as long as they are reusable and can benefit someone else.

The objects thus cleaned and / or renovated are then offered for sale, in the shop, at a very low price. The Ressourcerie thus allows everyone to equip themselves (crockery, furniture, decoration, clothes and shoes, games and toys, household appliances, bicycles and even creations made in the workshop) at a very low price.

Also, rather than throwing away items that are no longer needed, the Ressourcerie encourages donations, recycling and, in fact, the circular economy. Solidarity collections are regularly organized.

In order to meet their social and solidarity objectives, the teams of La Ressourcerie de Gonesse have also created a Workplace Integration Workshop:

“This system thus makes it possible to ensure the reception, the hiring in fixed-term integration contract (CDDI) and the putting to work per year of 36 unemployed people encountering particular social and professional difficulties. These employees in integration thus benefit from follow-up, support, technical supervision and training in order to subsequently facilitate their social integration and seek the appropriate means for lasting professional integration. "

The Ressourcerie has four missions:

  • Separate collection
  • Sorting, checking and cleaning of recovered objects
  • Resale of objects
  • Environmental education

The Ressourcerie de Gonesse was born out of a double desire from social landlords and the Roissy-Pays de France Agglomeration Community. It is part of the Local Waste Prevention Plan (PLDP) of the CARPF.
