Goussainville

Do you know the Urbex? Short for “urban exploration”, the urbex allows visitors to visit places built and then abandoned by man, but also to showcase an urban heritage that is often overlooked or considered unattractive for a visit. What if you got into Urbex by exploring the Old Country of Goussainville and this almost abandoned village ? An idea for an atypical and original visit!

After discovering the domain, follow the path of the painters in the cobbled streets of the city. Many of them set up shop in Écouen, which has since become an international center for genre painting, on the initiative of Pierre-Édouard Frère. 20 lecterns take you to discover these emblematic artists such as Paul Soyer, Duverger, Dargelas, Auguste Schenck or even Jules Paulin Lorillon, who loved to represent scenes from everyday life. At each stage, you can discover a reproduction of a period painting in front of the point of view it represents. The Painters' Trail thus offers you a real journey through time, from the 19e century to the present day.
