As every month, we invite you to find the monthly hotel figures of Grand Roissy published by MKG. For the month of October, the various indices show that compared to October 2020, hotels are showing encouraging figures but still low compared to the same period in 2019.

Rising air traffic and increased recovery of lounges

Ainsi, le opening rate of Grand Roissy hotels is 97,4% in October 2021, against 90,1% in October 2020. In this line, the average occupancy of establishments reached 46,9%, an increase of 25,2 points compared to October 2020. This increase in the occupancy rate s 'explains by an increased resumption of trade fairs held at Villepinte Exhibition Center. Indeed, the upturn in business tourism has generated overnight stays thanks, for example, to the Milipol World Safety Fair (October 19 to 22 - 22 visitors, 000% of whom are international) or even Natexpo (October 42 to 24 - 26 exhibitors and 850 professional visitors).

Similarly, we also note a increased air traffic with 2 million more passengers at Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport compared to October 2020. However, if we compare this figure with the pre-COVID period in October 2019, air traffic corresponded to 58,8% of that observed in the same month of 2019. This figure has repercussions on the performance of the hotel sector if compared to October 2019.

If we look now at the average price, it stood at € 86,10. This therefore represents an increase of 20,6% compared to October 2020. Thus, in a context of a joint increase in the average price and the occupancy rate, the RevPAR increased by nearly 160,3% compared to October 2020.

Figures for 1 * to 5 * hotels

The hotel industry super economical (1 * and 2 *) displays the highest level of occupancy, reaching 65,6%, an increase of 35,1 points compared to October 2020. Same observation for hotels Opportunities (3 *) which posted an average occupancy of 35,8% representing a gain of 15,2 points compared to October 2020. Finally, the niche midrange (4 *) as well as tourist residences (5 *) show an occupancy rate of 43,6%, that is to say 24,6 points of occupancy rate more over the same period of 2020. Since the beginning of the year, the occupancy rate of hotels has increased. establishes at 29,9%, stagnating compared to the same period in 2020. In addition, the average price drops by 8%, thus settling at € 76,5 and the RevPAR stands at € 22,9.

The three sectors of the Grand Roissy

In October 2021, the 3 sectors of the Grand Roissy recorded an increase in their performance finding their origins in the increase in air traffic and the holding of trade fairs. The Airport sector posted the highest occupancy rate of 46,7% (+ 22,5 additional pts compared to October 2020). It is followed by the Allée du Verger sector (+25,6 compared to October 2020). the airport sector shows the highest average price of € 101,5 (+ 22,2% compared to October 2020). L'Allée du Verger and Villepinte Paris Nord recorded average prices of € 74,8 and € 80,7, representing respective increases of 7,5% and 51,2%. the Villepinte hotel sector records the largest average price increase in view of the fairs that have taken place.
