In May 2022, the resumption of activity continues to take shape for hotels in Grand Roissy. Thus, there was an overall occupancy rate of 69,0%. This figure is up by 47,7 points compared to May 2021. Discover all the hotel figures for the month of May!

A rising occupancy rate thanks to business tourism and the resumption of air traffic

The destination was boosted by the Global Industry Paris exhibition, which was held from May 17 to 20 in Paris Nord-Villepinte. Indeed, the latter welcomed around 2 exhibitors and 300 visitors. In addition, there is an increase in air traffic. Thus, in May 45, Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport welcomed 5,2 million passengers, an increase of 4,1 million compared to May 2021.

Hotel performance by hotel category

The establishments of Greater Roissy, all categories combined, recorded a considerable increase in average price compared to May 2021. Indeed, the latter was €104,4 excluding tax, i.e. +€36,4 (53,5%). From January to May 2022, the overall occupancy rate was 52,5%, an increase of 30,8 points compared to the same period in 2021. The average price is also on the rise: €88,2 excluding tax , i.e. +€19,3 (28%). Mechanically, the RevPAR benefits from this upward momentum: +€31,3 compared to N-1 to reach €46,3 excluding tax.

The super-budget hotel segment recorded a very satisfactory volume of activity with 88,2% occupancy: +53,1 points compared to May 2021. Similarly, 3* hotels and the segment made up of 4* and residences 5* perform similarly. Thus, we count more than 64% occupancy, and a recovery of between +45,4 and +47,3 points.

In this context of a joint recovery in occupancy and the average price, the overall RevPAR reached €72,1 excluding tax, i.e. nearly 5 times higher than its level in May 2021 which was €14,5 (+€57,6 ).

Hotel figures for the three sectors of Grand Roissy

All sectors recover about 46 to 49 occupation points compared to N-1. The combined increase in air traffic and the resumption of MICE events for the general public in Villepinte strongly contributed to these performance levels. First, the sectors Orchard Alley and Airport stand out with 68% occupancy. They are followed by the Villepinte/Paris Nord 2 sector, which has an occupancy rate of 64,8%. Regarding the average price, the Airport sector posted a price of €123,7 excluding VAT, compared to €92,1 excluding VAT for the Allée du Verger sector and €91,3 excluding VAT for the Villepinte/Paris Nord 2 sector.

However, all recorded significant increases compared to May 2021, with respectively +€48,7 for the Airport sector, +€24,7 for the Allée du Verger sector, and +€30,4 for the Villepinte/Paris sector. North 2.
