In July 2022, and for the second consecutive month, the performance of Grand Roissy hotels is approaching normative levels. With an occupancy rate reaching 77,3%, up 43,3 points compared to July 2021. These good performances confirm the recovery in activity, in line with the resumption of air traffic and the resumption of events in Villepinte Exhibition Center.

Average price up compared to July 2021

The entire hotel park of the Greater Roissy records an average price up compared to July 2021. With +€24, i.e. an increase of 33,8%; thus reaching an overall average price of €96 excluding VAT. This bullish trend is noticeable for all segments. 30,8% for 1 and 2* hotels and 31,4% for 4* and 5* residences; the 3* segment recorded the highest increase in average price: +40,1%, to reach €81,1 excluding tax.

The impact of air traffic growth is clear

The impact of air traffic growth is clear. In July 2022, Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport welcomed 6 million passengers. Traffic up by 3 million passengers compared to July 2021; and equivalent to 86,3% of July 2019 traffic.

The resumption of events at Grand Roissy

The hotel business also benefited from the large-scale events organized in July in Villepinte. The Première Vision show was held on July 5,6, 7 and 1 at Paris Nord Villepinte; with more than 200 exhibitors and 23 visitors. The Villepinte Exhibition Center also hosted the Japan Expo from July 377 to 14. The number of visitors for this 17 session is not yet known but stood at 2022 in 252.

Hotel figures for the three sectors of Grand Roissy

The Allée du Verger and Aéroport sectors come first, with respective occupancy rates of 82,2% and 77,7% in July 2022. The most significant upturn in activity is observed in the Allée du Verger area. Orchard, with growth of 56,6 points compared to N-1. The Villepinte/Paris Nord 2 sector recorded an occupancy rate of 66,1%; i.e. a recovery of 40,4 points, 2,2 points higher than the progression of the Airport sector.

Average prices are relatively close between the Villepinte/Paris Nord 2 and Allée du Verger sectors: respectively €73,1 excluding tax and €80 excluding tax. The Airport division recorded the highest level: €117,9 excluding tax, due in particular to the structure of the offer. The increases compared to July 2021 are 44,3% for the Airport sector; 28,5% for the Villepinte/Paris Nord 2 sector and finally 19,8% for the Allée du Verger sector.
