Air France plans to reorganize its domestic network from Paris by 2026, by concentrating flights departing from Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

Orly, it's over

Air France reveals a major adjustment project for its domestic offering from Paris planned for 2026. This initiative responds to the constant decrease in demand due to the rise of videoconferencing, the reduction in professional travel, and the trend companies to favor eco-responsible CSR policies. These changes have led to a significant drop in air traffic between 2019 and 2023, particularly from Orly airport, with a drop of 40%, even reaching 60% for return journeys during the day.

Thus, Air France will manage all of its flights, both domestic and international, from its main hub at Paris-Charles de Gaulle. The only exception will be connections to Corsica, which will continue to depart from Paris-Orly.

Its transfer to its Roissy hub will therefore be for the benefit of its low-cost subsidiary, Transavia.

The low-cost airline will become the Air France group's benchmark operator from Paris-Orly airport and will continue its development trajectory, in particular thanks to the ramp-up of its new fleet. Transavia, which currently has 71 aircraft, should eventually resume connections to Toulouse, Marseille and Nice, while opening to new destinations in order to use the slots left by Air France.
