Écouen lights up for the holidays: A month of magic and magical events

From December 8, 2023 to January 8, 2024, the town of Écouen is adorned with lights to celebrate the festive period with a program rich in enchanting activities. The illuminations will kick off on Friday, December 8 at 20 p.m. on the square of the Manor and the church, promising a sparkling spectacle that will mark the start of the celebrations.

At the Manoir des Tourelles: a magical garden to discover

From December 8, 2023 to January 8, 2024, the Manoir des Tourelles opens its doors to a magical garden. Creative enthusiasts will have the opportunity to participate in captivating workshops, such as tealight making on Wednesday, December 6 from 14 p.m. to 18 p.m., and Christmas wreath making on Saturday, December 9, also from 14 p.m. to 18 p.m. h. To immerse yourself in the Christmas spirit, dramatized tales will be presented on Saturday December 16 and Sunday December 17 from 15 p.m. A Christmas decoration workshop, with the making of Christmas socks and baubles, will be open on Wednesday, December 20 from 14 p.m. to 18 p.m.

Activities in the city center: markets, carousels and creative workshops

In the city center, a carousel installed on the church square will be accessible free of charge on Friday, December 22 from 16:30 p.m. A local producers' market hosted by a Christmas carriage will be held the same day from 13 p.m. h. On December 9 and 10, the Lemaire gymnasium will host a Christmas market with a Christmas carol choir, makeup stands, a Christmas purse creation workshop, photo sessions with Santa Claus and the distribution of chocolates.

Crafts and treats at the craft market

On Saturday and Sunday, a craft market will offer a variety of products such as jams, candles, jewelry, paintings, books, bags, soft toys, ceramics and honey. Crepe and drink stands will also be present to delight visitors.

Activities at the library: creations and shows

At the library, creative workshops will be organized, including a “Christmas sweater” workshop for adults on Saturday, December 2 at 14 p.m. and a similar workshop for children on Saturday, December 16 at 14 p.m. Free shows upon reservation will also be available, with “A real Christmas” by Yaïda Jardines Ochoa and Pity on Wednesday, December 13 at 10:30 a.m., followed by “Le Noël de petit-piano” by Jean-Christophe Cornier at 15 p.m. h.
