As part of a program to establish bicycle relay points, 12 bicycle repair terminals as well as hoops were installed in the territory of Roissy-Pays de France. By the end of 2024, these will be 25 municipalities which will benefit from this system, aiming to encourage soft mobility while promoting local businesses close to the new facilities.
Forward for soft mobility
The Roissy Pays de France agglomeration displays a strong support for gentle mobility, thus encouraging motorless travel on its territory. With this in mind, bicycle repair stations are being set up to encourage residents to favor the use of bicycles in their daily travels. According to David Gallardo, Commerce and Crafts project manager within the intercommunality, this initiative stems from the observation that many cyclists cross the villages of the region without stopping there, due to lack of suitable places. Thus, the objective goes beyond simply promoting the use of bicycles: it also aims to offer local merchants the opportunity to attract new customers. The first terminal, installed in Fosses, was inaugurated on March 29, 2023.

Alongside this initiative, a unique opportunity is offered to cycle tourism enthusiasts: discover Scandiberia. This journey of more than 1700 km, crossing twenty departments, four regions and Grand Roissy, offers a real natural escape from urban stress. Promoting slow tourism, the Tourist Office offers cycle tourism routes to explore the region while respecting the environment. From the authentic countryside along the Ourcq canal to a stay at the Manoir de Gressy, including the discovery of gems like the Château d'Écouen, the Tourist Office facilitates your cycling adventure along the Scandibérique.

From now on, you can benefit from these facilities in several municipalities, both in Seine-et-Marne and in Val d'Oise:
- Seine-et-Marne (77): Mitry-Mory, Le Mesnil-Aubry, Compans, Thieux, Villeparisis, Othis, Moussy-le-Neuf.
- Val d'Oise (95): Louvres, Roissy-en-France, Fosses, Marly-la-Ville, Goussainville.

With these new installations, the maintenance of your bike becomes more accessible, thus encouraging the use of soft mobility for your daily trips.
The establishment of these bicycle repair terminals demonstrates the concrete commitment of the agglomeration community of Roissy Pays de France in favor of more sustainable and environmentally friendly mobility.
