Discovering the MATA restaurant: a culinary journey with Assyro-Chaldean flavors

Located in Attainville, just a few minutes from Greater Roissy, MATA restaurant opened its doors to us for a gourmet immersion in the traditional Assyro-Chaldean cuisine.

A cuisine between tradition and passion

"Mata", which means « Village« in Aramaic, offers generous cuisine, inspired by ancestral recipes from Assyro-Chaldean villages perched in the inaccessible mountains of ancient Mesopotamia. MATA, everything is prepared in-house from fresh.

The setting is warm, the welcome attentive, and each dish tells a story. The team takes the time to explain the origin of the dishes and their preparation, which makes the experience even more enriching.

A culinary journey

The menu offers many choices to discover this still too little-known cuisine. We had the opportunity to taste several specialties, with rich and delicately spiced flavors.

Entrance, we opted for the MATA plateau, composed of : Ketlatas (Semolina turnovers filled with minced beef and vegetables), Beureks (Cheese rolls), Lahmacun (Minced beef in tomato sauce on traditional homemade bread) and Kadekta (Homemade bread stuffed with cheese).

To accompany everything, we chose non-alcoholic cocktails : THE MATA (Passion fruit, guava, orange, lemon and grenadine) and le FEKA (Pineapple, mango, lime, lemon syrup).

For the dish, we advise you the discovery plate, which will allow you, as its name suggests, to taste a beautiful overview of the cuisine Assyro-ChaldeanIt is composed of: Aprakhés ((Vine leaf rolls stuffed with rice in tomato sauce and sliced vegetables), Qâchqa (Grandma's style corn stew) and Tasta d'Matfouniyé (Minced beef wrapped in vegetables, baked in the oven).

To end on a sweet note : BAKLAWA, these pistachio and walnut puff pastries accompanied by traditional homemade yogurt, a real treat!

We were won over as much by the friendly atmosphere as by the quality of the dishes. A real exotic culinary experience, to discover as a couple, with friends or family!
