On Saturday, May 23, 2026, the European Night of Museums will illuminate the Greater Roissy area and its surroundings. The program includes legendary castles, memorial factories, and museums under construction… All admissions are free, for young and old.

What is Museum Night?

Every year, more than 3,000 French museums and monuments participate in the Night of Museums. For this 22nd edition, the event will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, throughout the Île-de-France region. The concept: for one evening, cultural institutions unveil their treasures through free nighttime tours, performances, workshops, and unusual activities.

In Val-d'Oise and in the Roissy Pays de France agglomeration area, four remarkable places are exceptionally opening their doors that evening.

The Château d'Écouen – National Renaissance Museum gods, myths and night tales

Located 19 km north of Paris and 15 km from Roissy Airport, the Château d'Écouen has housed the National Museum of the Renaissance since 1977, the only museum in France entirely dedicated to this period. Built in the 16th century by Constable Anne de Montmorency, it offers a breathtaking panorama of the Plaine de France.

For Museum Night, at nightfall, Visitors are invited to meet the gods and discover their love stories. conflict between divine and mortal beings. Storyteller Nathalie Leone, from the Hutte Galante companywill bring ancient myths to life and perhaps even Psyche and Eros at the turn of a corridorA food truck will also be available on site.

The museum ARCHEA (Louvre): A night under the sign of red

The ARCHÉA intercommunal museum in Louvres is offering an evening themed around the color red, echoing its temporary exhibition. Red! Archaeology of a colorFor 40,000 years, this color has fascinated with its intensity and symbolic significance — the color of life, blood, and the sun.

On the evening's program: impromptu imaginary visits with the public through the Marcq-en-Barœul Improvisation League, lantern making workshop, Escape Game Panic in Saint Rieul (on reservation), scavenger hunts in the museum and guided tours of the permanent and temporary exhibitions. Visitors will also be able to discover artistic productions created by students from the metropolitan area around the color red, in collaboration with the artist Pierre Genouvrier.

The Cartoucherie Ecomuseum (Survilliers): an evening of sound and remembrance

For its second participation in the European Night of Museums, the Cartoucherie de Survilliers ecomuseum is offering a new sound creation called Working notes. Since 2024, the Heritage Department of the Roissy Pays de France metropolitan area has been collecting testimonies, objects, and documents to enrich our understanding of the factory's history. This evening is the culmination of that work: the sounds of machinery alternate with... excerpts from testimonies of former male and female workers, to be listened to while seated or strolling among the machines. A small exhibition will also showcase recent acquisitions, and a mediator will be on hand to answer visitors' questions.

The Museum Factory (Gonesse): Behind the scenes of a museum in the making

In Gonesse, Museum Night takes a decidedly original turn: the Museum Factory invites the public to enter behind the scenes of a project still under construction : a future museum of history and society whose doors will open soon. The exhibition While waiting for the museum It reveals the thoughts, objects, and intentions behind this cultural project. The evening continues in the courtyard of Coulanges with a new exhibition entitled Snapshots of a school in motion, in a friendly atmosphere, both indoors and outdoors.
