From August 13th to 16th, 2026, the grounds of the Château d'Écouen will trade its Renaissance setting for an extraordinary competition venue: the French 3D Archery Championship. Organized by the Archers of Écouen club, the event will bring together the best French specialists in this outdoor archery discipline, in a unique heritage setting in the Val-d'Oise region. Competitions, free activities, and a festive evening are on the program.
🏹 A national championship in a Renaissance setting
The Val-d'Oise region is hosting one of the major national archery events: the 2026 French 3D Archery Championships will take place in the forest and grounds of the Château d'Écouen, a heritage site rarely associated with a sporting competition of this scale. The event is organized by the local club, the Archers of Écouen.
For four days, competitors will face off on courses marked with three-dimensional targets representing animals, a discipline that requires precision, reading the terrain and technical mastery.
🎯 Top-level archers expected
Several prominent figures from the Archers of Écouen club will be on the shooting line, starting with Nino Molard, French field and 3D archery champion in 2024 and a renowned high-level athlete in the Val-d'Oise region. Charlotte Auriat-Garin, French U18 3D vice-champion in 2025, Françoise Perrinel, former individual 3D world champion, and Patrick Rogier, a specialist in field archery disciplines, complete the list of athletes to watch.
🎪 Free competitions and activities for everyone
Access to the championship is completely free and open to everyone, from the qualifying rounds to the finals. The first rounds take place from August 13th, before the final stages and title presentations on August 14th and 16th.
Beyond the sporting events, numerous free activities are offered throughout the weekend: introductory archery sessions, demonstrations of archery adapted for visually impaired people, and visits to the Écouen forest and the Saint-Acceul church with its 16th-century stained-glass windows. The National Renaissance Museum, located in the castle, also offers themed tours focusing on archery and workshops for young visitors.
🎶 A festive evening on Friday, August 14th
On Friday, August 14, an evening open to all will enrich the sports program with several cultural highlights: a concert by the Valdois group Ember Drive, a demonstration of artistic fencing by the Cyclone company, and a Celtic rock concert by Trouz Ar Mor.
