The Pinacoteca of Ecouen

Open all year

Français

Permanent exhibition of works from the Écouen school.

In the 19th century, a group of renowned painters settled in Ecouen, attracted by the unique setting offered by the town with its castle overlooking the Plaine de France.

A permanent exhibition, in the room of the Municipal Council of the Town Hall, allows you to discover these painters now forgotten, but whose works were sold at exorbitant prices at the time.

The municipality has acquired a large number of paintings to exhibit them to the public. We can mention among the painters of the School of Ecouen: Edouard Frère, Auguste Schenck, Guillaume Seignac, Paul Lorillon, Emmanuel Duverger (many streets of the city still bear their names).

Some works have immortalized the village of Ecouen in the 19th century.
