Opened in 2010 in Louvres, the ARCHEA Museum highlights more than 40 years of archaeological research conducted in the northeast of the Île-de-France region. Housed in a contemporary building, it interacts with the Saint-Rieul Tower, the emblematic site of the first discoveries that led to the museum's creation. Thanks to its large bay window, it invites visitors to embark on a true heritage adventure.
Unique collections
Coming from nearly 90 archaeological sites, about 780 objects tell the story of the territory, of the Prehistory to the 18th centuryAmong the key pieces, we discover:
- some Gallic chariot tombs from Val-d'Oise,
- the Merovingian burials of the necropolis of Saint-Rieul,
- la Orville Castle weather vane, destroyed in 1438,
- a rich collection of thousand-year-old ceramics of the Ysieux valley.
- and the artifacts of theformer castle of Roissy-en-France from the 18th century.
More than a museum: an experience
ARCHÉA is not limited to its showrooms. It also offers:
