Inaugurated since September 18, 2020, Roissy International Golf Course bears witness to the richness of the territory of Greater Roissy, combining sport, relaxation and leisure in this area of 90 hectares. Discover the portrait of Daniel, golf manager.

“I have been here since the opening in September 2020. I live in the 10nd district and maybe I would be interested in moving here in the future. People are starting to be more and more aware of the existence of the Golf from Roissy, product quality, location. It is one of the highlights because it is one of the closest golf courses to Paris. I am responsible for golf here, that is to say that I manage the teaching, the competitions, the daily operations. I also take care of the management of the driving range which is the training area but also the shop and equipment part. My attachment to the territory comes from my attachment to my students who are from here. They tell me all these stories and tell me to go to this brewery, visit this area and so on. So I am more and more attached to the territory thanks to the human relationships that I have.

The seminar and restaurant part is as important as my duties within the Golf. Maintaining the course is a big part of the job too. From the beginning, the concept of this project was to build a Golf in harmony with the environment. For example, we collect rainwater. We can last 2 and a half months or even 3 months just watering the course with rainwater. We do not use chemicals on the course. We travel on cart paths that are not concrete. If the Golf closes, nature will reclaim its rights.

I was one of the first people to be hired in the project. I accepted the position in March 2019. At the time I was living in San Diego, California and with my wife we wanted to move to France. I had come to France to study the golf industry market. I was very quickly told about this project as being the most interesting in France. The team needed an experience like mine to carry out the project. For more than 10 years I have worked in the golf industry. We weren't sure at first how the Roisséens were going to embrace this project and these courses. In the end, the participation of Roisséens is quite strong.

We have a lot of new golfers who are residents of Roissy and many people who come to eat with their families at the restaurant, children who ride their bikes, etc. The goal was for it to become this public park accessible to everyone and for the local population to appropriate this space. Residents of Roissain come as much to take advantage of this green space as to learn to play golf.

Every year we host a professional competition on the PGA Grand Prix circuit. We have about 90 professional players coming and we would like to make it a big event of the golfing year. We also organize competitions for amateurs such as the Roissy Senior Grand Prix and the Roissy Junior Grand Prix, and of course many more fun events for our subscribers.

We also organize Proshop competitions or with gardeners who play against golfers so that people can learn more about the profession and thank them because it is thanks to them that we play on such beautiful surfaces. »
