National Orchestra of Île de France “Welcome to Broadway”

The principle of the “Let's sing with…” project is simple: amateurs work with the orchestra on the music and tunes from the greatest musicals and perform them on stage.

To do this, the choirs will rehearse the tunes on the program every week, then they will participate in group piano/singing rehearsals. At the end of the school year, these music lovers will prepare the concert with the Orchester national d'Île-de-France during a pre-general and a general. They will then be ready for the big concert.

And when professional musicians and amateur singers from all backgrounds work together, it can result in this type of absolutely exciting program: a selection of the best choruses from American musicals, in a rhythmic and catchy style. Famous pages from Bernstein and Sondheim will follow one another (My Fair Lady, West Side Story, Singin' in the Rain, The Sound of Music, etc.), sometimes reused in
Walt Disney films like Beauty and the Beast.

In this program, several choirs of middle school, high school and adult amateurs come to try the experience of the “Let's sing with the orchestra” program run for several years by the Orchester national d'Île-de-France.
