The association of friends of Saint-Acceul, the church of Écouen, is working on a new project.

After the fundraising intended to restore the organ of the church, the association is working on the return of the reliquary of Saint-Andéol.

This Friday 15 January, Mr. Christian Olivereau, in charge of the conservation of works of art at the Departmental Council, and Mrs. Marie Monfort, Curator of historical monuments at the DRAC (Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs) of Île-de-France, were received in Écouen.

They first proceeded, at the town hall, to the inspection of reliquary gilded with fine gold, listed as a historical monument in 1996.

Then, a visit to the Saint-Acceul church was organized, in order toassess the work necessary to restore and secure the location where the reliquary is to return of Saint-Andéol.

The location where the reliquary of Saint-Andéol should return.

A company should come soon to establish an estimate to complete this first visit.

The return of this reliquary would represent a significant asset both for the Saint-Acceul church and for the town of Écouen.
