“Free” tourism back in Japan from October 11

It had been two and a half years since the country of the rising sun had put in place numerous restrictions on access to the territory in view of the COVID-2 pandemic. The reopening was slow and gradual but it is now official! As announced by the Japanese Prime Minister, it will be possible to travel freely in Japan again from Tuesday, October 19, 11. 

Air France relaunched its flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Tokyo-Haneda last September, with 5 flights per week. Air France will thus connect Paris to the two Tokyo airports this winter, with Tokyo-Narita airport being served up to 5 times a week from Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

Winter 2022-2023: Air France will serve 5 new destinations on departure from Paris – Charles de Gaulle and is reopening one of its emblematic routes…

During the 2022-2023 winter season (November 2022 – March 2023), the company will serve 171 destinations. Indeed, there will be 86 on long-haul and 85 on short and medium-haul.

In addition, on December 10, 2022, four new destinations will join the Air France network:

  • Kittilä (Finland) and Tromsø (Norway), both will be served once a week. Tromsø will be the northernmost destination of the entire Air France-KLM network.
  • Innsbruck and Salzburg (Austria), with 2 and 1 flight per week respectively

Air France reopens its Paris – Charles de Gaulle / New York – Newark route

As the leading airline on the Paris-New York route, Air France is continuing to strengthen its offer between the two cities. From December 12, 2022, the company will provide a year-round direct daily connection between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and New York-Newark Liberty Airport (EWR). The latter is the second international airport serving New York and its region, located about 30 km from Manhattan.

Flight times (in local time):

AF062: Departure from Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 12 p.m., arrival at 30 p.m.
AF063: Depart New York Newark Liberty at 17 p.m., arrival 05 a.m. (next day)

ASL Airlines France's winter schedule to Algeria

After a summer marked by strong demand and tickets that were sometimes difficult to find, this new winter program is good news for ASL Airlines France customers. Indeed, it is the first time in two years that the company will offer so many flights each week between France and Algeria. 

Thus, from October 30, you will be able to take advantage of a twice-daily service from Paris-CDG to Algiers. Here are the different services that will operate to Algeria:

1) Paris CDG – Algiers : 14 flights per week with daily flights

2) Paris CDG-Annaba : Up to 2 flights per week (Friday, Sunday)

3) Paris CDG – Bejaia : Up to 3 flights per week (Monday, Thursday, Saturday)

Vietnam Airlines: reinforcement of the Hanoi – Paris link this winter

Vietnam Airlines will strengthen its connection between Noi Bai airport in the capital Hanoi and Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Thus, the company will go from two weekly flights to four weekly flights during the next winter season.

From October 28, 2022, the company will operate the Paris-Hanoi line on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, by Airbus A350-900. Flight times (in local times):


-Flight VN19: departure from Hanoi at 23:50; arrival at Paris-CDG at 06:30 (D+1)
- Flight VN18: departure from Paris-CDG at 13:10 p.m.; arrival in Hanoi at 06:10 (D+1)

Three new destinations operated by Easy Jet in France this winter

First of all, from November 1, 2022 to March 25, 2023, the company will offer two flights per week between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and the airport of Palermo-Falcone Borsellino. Departures are scheduled for Tuesday and Saturday at 12:35 p.m. to arrive at 15:15 p.m., with “return” flights leaving Sicily at 9:25 a.m. to land at 12:05 p.m.

In addition, from December 20, 2022 to March 25, 2023, easyJet will also offer two flights per week between Lyon-Saint Exupéry and the airport Funchal-Cristiano Ronaldo. Departures will take place on Tuesday at 7:15 a.m. (arrival at 9:50 a.m.) and Saturday at 12:15 p.m. (arrival at 14:50 p.m.). Finally, returns will take place from Portugal on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. (arrival at 15:00 p.m.) and Saturday at 15:30 p.m. (arrival at 20:00 p.m.).

Finally, between Bordeaux-Merignac and the airport Copenhagen-Kastrup, easyJet will offer two flights per week from November 10, 2022 to March 23, 2023. Departures are scheduled for Thursday at 10:25 a.m. (arrival at 13 p.m.) and Sunday at 00:8 a.m. (arrival at 10:10 a.m.). Return flights will operate Thursday at 45:13 p.m. (arrival at 30:16 p.m.) and Sunday at 10:11 a.m. (arrival at 15:13 p.m.).

Like Qatar or the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia would like to found a new airline in order to raise it to the level of Emirates. The latter could be called RIA and be launched in the fourth half. According to Arabian Business, the latter would be based in Riyadh.
