Hotel attendance is steadily increasing. Thus, although the figures remain lower than the period before COVID 19, we see that the latter are on the rise compared to September 2020, as well as the figures of'' August 2021. Several factors can explain this progression.

What are the factors of the hotel takeover?

Indeed, the gradual resumption of business tourism with international trade fairs is a first factor of success. Thus, the latter generate overnight stays thanks to the Salon Maison & Objet (September 9 to 13), the Leather Show (September 21 to 23), or the International Trade Fair for Optics Professionals (SILMO, September 23-26). Similarly, these results can be explained by theincreased air traffic. Thus, there are 1,5 million more passengers compared to September 2020.

The holding of Fashion Week (September 28 to October 6) and Paris Design Week (September 9 to 18) are other events explaining this renewed vitality.

A clear increase in hotel figures compared to 2020

Thus, during the month of September 2021, the opening rate of Grand Roissy hotels is 97,3%, against 91,4% in September 2020. This shows a gradual return to normal. As a result, the occupancy of establishments reached an average of 46,8% against 21,9% in September 2020. Over the period from January to September 2021, the occupancy rate of hotels stood at 28,2%, ie a decrease of 3,2 points compared to the same period in 2020. The average price fell by 12,4%, thus settling at 74 €. The RevPAR is set at € 20.

However, we see a 19% increase in the average price compared to September 2020. Thus, this denier was 91,4 €. In a context of a joint increase in the average price and the occupancy rate RevPAR increases by nearly 125%, compared to September 2020.

The hotel industry super economical (1 * and 2 *) displays the highest level of filling, it reaches 62% with 35 points more compared to September 2020. This same rate is 40,3% for budget hotels (3 *), with a gain of 10,5 points compared to last year. Finally, the niche midrange (4 *) as well as tourist residences (5 *) show an occupancy rate of 43,2%, they gain 20,4 points of occupancy rate.

Figures for the three hotel sectors of Grand Roissy

The 3 sectors of the Grand Roissy recorded an increase in their performance with an overall occupancy rate of 45%. Thus, the airport sector has the highest average price € 107,2 (+ 22,2% compared to September 2020). L'Allée du Verger and Villepinte Paris Nord recorded an almost similar average price of € 82, ie respective increases of 10,8% and 51,8%.
